About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Rotational Cancer and Aseptic Services Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in providing patient-focused pharmacy services to both outpatients and inpatients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to provide clinical pharmacy services, including the preparation and dispensing of high-risk injectable medicines.
  • Manage and maintain the Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS) to ensure a high-quality, safe, and efficient level of service delivery.
  • Collaborate with the Aseptic Technical Team and Cancer Pharmacy Team to coordinate treatment provision to the Day Therapy Unit, haematology inpatient unit, and other medical wards requiring high-risk injectable medicines.
  • Ensure compliance with current legislation and guidance, including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation Services.
  • Perform final release of products purchased as unlicensed ready-to-administer doses from Specials Manufacturers and maintain competence in this area.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • CPD in line with GPhC recommendations
  • Experience of working in hospital pharmacy, providing clinical pharmacy services in a multidisciplinary team, and handling complex clinical problems
  • Managing and implementing changes, with a strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Clinical Practice
