About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rotational Cancer and Aseptic Services Pharmacist to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing patient-focused pharmacy services to both outpatients and inpatients, working closely with oncology and haematology teams to ensure the safe and effective preparation and administration of high-risk injectable medicines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services in a multidisciplinary team, including screening and dispensing of parenteral and oral products, and providing advice and support as required.
  • Work closely with the Aseptic Technical Team and Cancer Pharmacy Team to coordinate treatment provision to the Day Therapy Unit, haematology inpatient unit, and other medical wards requiring high-risk injectable medicines.
  • Ensure the Pharmacy Aseptic Services Unit operates in accordance with current legislation and guidance, including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation Services.
  • Perform final release of products purchased as unlicensed ready-to-administer doses from Specials Manufacturers, and maintain competence in this area.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • CPD in line with GPhC recommendations
  • Experience of working in hospital pharmacy, providing clinical pharmacy services in a multidisciplinary team, and handling complex clinical problems
