Edinburgh Napier University is a leading institution in Scotland, and we are seeking a skilled Business Development Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with employers and industry partners to develop commercial relationships and support the delivery of consultancy services.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on gender equality in STEM sectors. You will be responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with employers, industry partners, and training providers, while also developing business sponsorship activities and providing consultancy services.

We are looking for someone with a strong background in marketing and business development, as well as significant experience in designing and delivering training workshops. As a Business Development Specialist, you will have the opportunity to use your knowledge and expertise to develop new service offerings and build on our existing network of industry contacts.

The estimated salary for this role is between £36,294 and £45,163 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including 41 days annual leave and a generous pension scheme.

In this role, you will work full-time (35 hours per week) for an initial period of two years, with the likelihood of extension. The university may be able to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role, subject to certain conditions.

  • HNC/equivalent qualification in a relevant subject or extensive experience in a relevant context
  • Demonstrable experience in building commercial relationships within Higher Education/private/public sector
  • Demonstrable knowledge of marketing and business development (strategic and tactical)
  • Significant experience in designing and delivering training workshops
