About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Deputy Lead Nurse to join our dedicated team at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. As a key member of our clinical care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and management of a small team of staff, ensuring high standards of care and patient safety.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in partnership with children, young people, and their families.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Conduct regular appraisals and provide training and development opportunities to staff.
  • Ensure effective communication and teamwork among staff, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements
  • Qualified RSCN/RN (Child Branch)/RNLD/RGN with at least 3 years post-registration experience.
  • Significant post-registration experience working with children and young people with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to demonstrate high standards of clinical care.
  • Experience of managing a ward/unit and staff, including appraisal and training.
  • Knowledge of principles of clinical supervision and research-based practice.
