Rainbows provides specialized care and support to babies, children, and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, as well as their families. We offer a range of services, including hospice at home, in-patient care, and day therapy, all designed to enhance the quality of life for those we serve.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Deputy Lead Nurse to join our Hospice at Home team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering exceptional end-of-life care to children within their own homes, providing families with much-needed respite and support during challenging times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care to babies, children, and young people receiving hospice at home services.
  • Conduct assessments and reviews of clinical care, adapting to the evolving physical and emotional needs of each child.
  • Contribute to leadership, development, training, and planning initiatives within the Hospice at Home team.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of nurses, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless and coordinated care.
  • Maintain an overview of the day-to-day prioritisation of care arrangements, including on-call responsibilities and 7 days a week service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Nurse (RSCN/RN (Child Branch)/RNLD/RN (Adult branch)) with a minimum of three years post-registration experience.
  • Experience working at Band 6 level or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in providing care to children and young people with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
