Discover a world of possibilities in a company that prioritizes innovation and employee growth. At Abbott, we strive to empower individuals to reach their full potential by providing them with the tools and resources needed to excel in their careers.

The power of health drives us forward, and our mission is to advance innovative technologies that improve people's lives. With a diverse global network serving customers across 160 countries, we create new solutions that cater to various stages of life, from diagnostics and devices to nutrition and reformulations.

In our Centre of Excellence at Witney, we're pushing the boundaries of glucose monitoring systems. Our team has been instrumental in the research, development, and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Glucose Monitoring System, as well as exciting developments like the Libre Sense system. We're passionate about doing work that improves people's quality of life.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Scientist to join our R&D team as a Scientific Innovation Leader for Analytical Development. In this role, you'll provide scientific expertise and leadership across the ADC product range, collaborating with cross-functional teams worldwide.

As a key member of one of our sensor development teams, your primary responsibilities will include leading technical teams in test method development and transfer activities through scientific experimentation using analytical chemistry techniques, such as HPLC, LC-MS, and GC-MS. You'll play a crucial role in delivering analytical test methods through characterization studies and test method validation activities, ultimately driving the development of suitable quantitative analytical techniques to support new product development and on-market product improvement programs.

You'll be involved in development projects spanning laboratory and production environments, early-stage feasibility projects, and the development of a portfolio of new technologies for Abbott to explore. This will enable you to shape your career while contributing to the advancement of healthcare technologies.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual able to manage multiple interrelated activities with varying priorities in a fast-paced environment. You'll possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, preferably with prior technical management and leadership experience, as well as exposure to collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. A degree in Chemistry or a related field is essential, along with experience in analytical techniques, particularly HPLC, and a minimum of 5 years of method development, validation, and transfer experience. Experience working in regulated GLP/GMP environments and medical device (ISO13485) development is desirable.

Abbott offers a highly attractive benefits package, including a competitive salary, defined-contribution pension scheme, share ownership scheme, private healthcare, life assurance, and flexible benefits tailored to your needs. At Witney, we also prioritize our employees' well-being, offering a range of initiatives, such as onsite allotments, couch to 5k campaigns, beekeeping, yoga, and more.
