We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD researcher to join our team at the University of Nottingham's Centre for Additive Manufacturing (CfAM). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project that involves developing new materials and techniques for multi-material inkjet printing.
About the Project
The project aims to leverage the capabilities of multi-material inkjet printing to create functional structures and electronics with graded properties and chemistries. The researcher will develop control over the bonding at interfaces between materials and layers, achieving new engineering solutions only possible through multi-material additive manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new materials and techniques for multi-material inkjet printing
- Investigate the mechanical and chemical properties of multi-material inkjet printed materials
- Design and develop new structures and electronics using multi-material inkjet printing
- Collaborate with the research team to advance the project goals
Requirements
- Master's degree in a relevant field (Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physical Sciences)
- Strong background in materials sciences and/or digital design
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Eligibility
- Due to funding restrictions, the position is only available for UK candidates
- Candidates must possess or expect to obtain a 2:1 or first-class degree in a relevant field
