PhD Researcher: Multi-material Inkjet Printing for Functional Structures and Electronics

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student to join our research team at the University of Nottingham's Centre for Additive Manufacturing (CfAM). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project focused on the development of multi-material inkjet printing techniques for the creation of functional structures and electronics.
About the ProjectThe project aims to leverage the capabilities of multi-material inkjet printing to create complex materials and systems with tailored properties. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of experts to develop new materials, methods, and designs for controlling the 3D distribution of functional materials. This will involve hands-on research in world-class laboratory facilities, where you will develop skills in photopolymer chemistry, materials development, design engineering, and materials processing for additive manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and characterise new multi-material inkjet printing techniques
- Design and fabricate complex materials and systems with tailored properties
- Collaborate with our team of experts to advance the field of multi-material inkjet printing
- Master's degree in a relevant field (Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physical Sciences)
- Strong background in materials sciences and/or digital design
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
