Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Community Continence and Urology Service on a full-time permanent basis. As a key member of our team, you will provide specialist care to patients, their families, and carers across the West Cheshire Footprint.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong interest in continence and urology, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for conducting continence assessments, implementing and evaluating treatment programmes, and participating in nurse-led continence clinics.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with clinicians, nurses, and administrators to provide high-quality patient care. You will also be involved in training patients and their carers, as well as colleagues and the wider Health/Social Care community.

Main Duties of the Job
  1. To carry out continence assessments, implement and evaluate treatment programmes to patients.
  2. Professionally responsible for own caseload.
  3. Participate in nurse-led continence clinics.
  4. Perform clinical skills relating to the post.
  5. Training to carers.
  6. Responsible for maintaining own confidential caseload notes.
  7. Work with external agencies to raise profile of continence promotion.
  8. To communicate effectively with relatives, clients, agencies, and the multi-disciplinary team.
  9. To act as the clients advocate at all times.
  10. To develop communication strategies to ensure understanding of care programmes and concordance with the treatment plan.
  11. To encourage good relationships with other statutory and voluntary services involving collaborative working.
  12. To have good communication within the continence team.
  13. To effectively communicate sensitive information in relation to, e.g., financial, sexual, interpersonal issues.
  14. Responsible for managing and prioritising own caseload.
  15. To work within the continence service budget.
  16. Participate in risk assessment for patients, carers, and staff.
  17. Signpost and advise staff as to sources of information as appropriate to their needs/requests.
  18. Participate in the audit process in conjunction with the clinical audit department where appropriate.
