The University of Cambridge, in collaboration with AstraZeneca, invites applications for a 4-year PhD studentship to work on a collaborative project entitled Accelerating Big Data in material crystallization. This research aims to understand the fundamental mechanism and kinetics of co-precipitation and crystallization, crucial for drug manufacturing processes.
Salary:The position comes with full funding, including maintenance fees at £21,500 per annum and the University Composition Fee at the Home rate, effective from October 2025.
Job Description:This PhD project will focus on acquiring cutting-edge research methodologies in a supportive environment, allowing the student to make the best possible scientific progress. The successful candidate will be jointly supervised by Prof Laura Torrente Murciano from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CEB) and Dr Sophie Janbon at AstraZeneca.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- A first or high second-class degree from a UK university or an equivalent standard from an overseas university in chemical engineering, process engineering, or chemistry.
- Prior knowledge or experience in materials crystallization, big data analysis, or related fields is desirable but not essential.
