About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Structural Engineer to join our team at Wood, supporting our current modifications portfolio with one of our major UK North Sea clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide structural engineering expertise to the project team, ensuring delivery of projects to tight timescales in accordance with Client expectations.
  • Define structural engineering requirements for technical scopes, developing deliverables and documentation for use in offshore construction workpacks.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for the procurement of structural fabrications/special items, and undertake engineering checking & approvals.
  • Support the Lead Structural Engineer, providing input to project plans and progress reporting, and coaching and mentoring direct reports as delegated.
Requirements
  • MSc, MEng or BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience in brownfield Oil & Gas structural engineering.
  • Familiarity with technical direction and control of brownfield Oil & Gas engineering projects, with Chartered Engineer Status preferred but not essential.
  • Proficient with specialist software packages (MathCad, STAADpro), and knowledge of International Codes & Client Standards (e.g. AISC, Norsok, Equinor TR etc.).
