Job Overview

NES Fircroft is seeking a highly skilled Principal Structural Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering major modification projects, ensuring technical and safety integrity, and generating project deliverables using our systems and tools.
  • You will review and check the work of others, take responsibility for their performance, and compile weekly reports on progress via project tools.
  • Liaise with client project and facilities engineering to deliver work on schedule and within budget, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Accountable for the effective administration and implementation of Management of Change.
  • Prepare cost and time/man-hour estimates via our systems, and input into the planning, coordination, and execution of group work activities.
  • Liaise with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication, and commissioning issues, and provide engineering and technical direction for drawing office personnel.
  • Develop engineering concepts and detail designs, and prepare CTR estimates for structural scopes.

Requirements:

  • Sound working knowledge of relevant structural design codes.
  • Experience/qualification in Structural Engineering.
  • Solution-oriented with good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
  • Strong work ethics and a proactive attitude.
  • The ability to train and mentor discipline engineers.
  • A commercial mindset, good communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • The ability to see solutions together with meeting customer expectations and requirements.
  • The competency to be accurate, flexible, and organized.
