About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Acute Oncology service, you will provide specialist advice and support to patients and medical teams managing cancer patients admitted with symptoms relating to cancer or treatment for cancer and other anti-cancer treatments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist toxicity advice and support to patients and medical teams
  • Participate in the planning and development of acute oncology services
  • Support the design and maintenance of acute oncology education programs
  • Work collaboratively with the immunotherapy and acute oncology service

Person Specification

  • Registered Nurse
  • First Degree in Nursing or appropriate oncology/immunotherapy course
  • Mentorship qualification
  • Evidence of working in an acute cancer setting
  • Sage & Thyme communication training or evidence of communication training
  • Evidence of telephone triage experience
