About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279) in the Amberley Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe and effective nursing care and treatment for patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy, medical and supportive treatments, or undergoing medical investigations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients receiving SACT, medical, and supportive treatments.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
  • Administer medications and treatments, including intravenous medications, cannulation, and venepuncture, in accordance with trust policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, including pre-SACT patient information sessions and telephone triage.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring that patients receive individualized and person-centered care.
Person Specification
  • Current NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a minimum of 1 year's post-registration experience in an acute clinical setting.
  • Experience in haematology/oncology nursing, including SACT administration and cannulation competency.
  • Ability to empathize, support, and provide reassurance in difficult situations, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong focus on patient-centered care and safety.
