About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist advice and support to patients and medical teams managing cancer patients admitted with symptoms relating to cancer or treatment for cancer and other anti-cancer treatments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist toxicity advice and support to patients and medical teams
  • Participate in the planning and development of acute oncology services
  • Support the design and maintenance of acute oncology education programs
  • Work collaboratively with the immunotherapy and acute oncology service
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Registered Nurse qualification
  • First Degree in Nursing or appropriate oncology/immunotherapy course
  • Mentorship qualification
  • Evidence of working in an acute cancer setting
  • Sage & Thyme communication training or evidence of communication training
  • Evidence of telephone triage experience
