About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a SACT Trained Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering safe and effective nursing care and treatment to patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy, medical and supportive treatments, or undergoing medical investigations on the Amberley Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with cancer, including those receiving SACT, medical, and supportive treatments.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Administer medications, including intravenous medications, and perform venepuncture and cannulation procedures.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, including pre-SACT patient information sessions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse (RGN).
  • Experience in haematology/oncology nursing, including SACT administration.
  • Recognised SACT administration training qualification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritise tasks accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise with patients and their families.
