About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (279) in the role of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) Administration Nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe and effective nursing care and treatment for patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy, medical and supportive treatments or undergoing medical investigations on the Amberley Unit.
  • Administer intravenous medication and perform cannulation and venepuncture procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in pre-SACT patient information sessions and provide education to patients and their families.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to SACT administration.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Experience in haematology and oncology nursing, including SACT administration.
  • Competency in administration of intravenous medication, cannulation, and venepuncture.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
