About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nurse to join our team at the Amberley Unit, University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a SACT Trained Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering safe and effective nursing care and treatment to patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy, medical and supportive treatments, or undergoing medical investigations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with cancer, including those receiving SACT, medical and supportive treatments, or undergoing medical investigations.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting independence and empowerment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of best practices and policies.

Person Specification

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.
  • Experience in haematology and oncology nursing, with a recognized SACT administration qualification.
  • Current competency in administration of intravenous medication, cannulation, and venepuncture.
  • Ability to empathize, support, and provide reassurance in difficult situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
