Neonatal Staff Nurse

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse to join our Haematology and Oncology team at Worthing Hospital. As a Neonatal Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) and other medical treatments.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe and effective nursing care to patients on the Amberley Unit, which provides outpatient services for haematology and oncology patients. This will include administering SACT and other medical treatments, as well as providing supportive therapies and care.
Person SpecificationWe are looking for a nurse with a strong background in haematology and oncology, who has experience in administering SACT and other medical treatments. The ideal candidate will have a recognized SACT administration training qualification and be able to demonstrate a high level of competence in this area.
Requirements- Current NMC registration
- Experience post-registration in an acute clinical setting
- SACT administration qualification
- Current competency in administration of intravenous medication
- Cannulation competency and venepuncture
- Experience in haemato-oncology nursing
- Training in immediate life support (ILS)
- Current competency in the administration of blood products
- Experience in delivery pre-SACT patient information sessions
- Experience in handling telephone triage
- Demonstrates skill in handling bad news situations
