Job Title:Autism Support Professional

Sugarman Health & Wellbeing is seeking a compassionate and skilled Autism Support Professional to join our team in Chesterfield. This is an exceptional opportunity to work with an individual with autism who requires support with daily living tasks and promoting independence.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with autism and knowledge of Makaton and positive behaviour support. Although all training will be provided, prior experience in this field is desirable. You will also possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and patience when working with individuals with challenging behaviours.

As an Autism Support Professional, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment for the Service User, supporting them with daily living tasks, and encouraging independence through goal-setting and planning.

This role offers a competitive hourly rate of £15 per hour (with enhanced rates on Bank Holidays) and ongoing training and development opportunities. If you are passionate about working with individuals with autism and making a real difference in their lives, we would love to hear from you

About the Role:
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the Service User and their family.
  • Support the individual with daily living tasks such as household chores, meal preparation, and personal care.
  • Encourage and promote independence through goal-setting and planning.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for the Service User.

Requirements:
  • Experience working with individuals with autism.
  • Knowledge of Makaton and positive behaviour support (training will be provided).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience and understanding when working with individuals with challenging behaviours.
