We are recruiting for an experienced learner support advisor who can support our learners at our Wakefield Military Academy. Knowledge and experience of working with young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is essential. If you are passionate about making a real difference to young people, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide learning support in 1:1 and group settings
* Facilitate inclusion in small group activities with learners and support interaction between them
* Attend in-service training and relevant meetings to keep up to date with developments
* Work as part of the team to ensure that the well-being and personal development of the learner enhances their learning opportunities and life skills
* Foster links between home and college
* Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the learners' needs and have regard to the safeguarding procedures of LCG
* Advise and support tutors with making necessary adjustments for learners with learning support needs
* Ensure Learning Support Plans and contact logs are updated accurately and timely
* Promote equal opportunities and recognition of diversity throughout the company
* Comply with the Safeguarding, Prevent, and Health and Safety Policies and be vigilant to potential concerns and risks at all times
* Provide learners, customers, and colleagues with support and advice as part of your everyday role

Requirements:

* Knowledge and experience of working with Post 16 learners with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP)
* Training in aspects of SEN, i.e. ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism
* GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English
* NVQ or equivalent as recognized by the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning
