About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Independent Sexual Violence Advisor to join our team at Victim Support. As a key member of our organization, you will provide critical support and advocacy services to survivors of sexual violence, focusing on individuals with complex needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop individualized service plans to address the specific needs of survivors.
  • Provide ongoing continuity, advocacy, and impartial advice and information to survivors, prioritizing their confidence, resilience, and empowerment.
  • Work collaboratively with survivors to navigate the criminal justice process, ensuring their rights are protected and providing access to resources and support.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with local agencies and groups, promoting the work of Victim Support and providing educational talks and presentations.
  • Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation, and administration of written statistical reports for external funders, ensuring the highest standards of quality and accountability.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor, with a strong track record of working with high and complex cases.
  • Extensive experience working with vulnerable clients, with a focus on maintaining professional boundaries and providing trauma-informed support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and communities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective service plans.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
