About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced learner support advisor to join our team at Learning Curve Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our learners at our Wakefield Military Academy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide learning support in 1:1 and group settings to ensure learners receive the best possible education.
  • Facilitate inclusion in small group activities and support interaction between learners.
  • Attend in-service training and relevant meetings to stay up-to-date with developments in the field.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the well-being and personal development of learners enhances their learning opportunities and life skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to learners' needs, adhering to safeguarding procedures.
  • Advise and support tutors with making necessary adjustments for learners with learning support needs.
  • Ensure Learning Support Plans and contact logs are updated accurately and timely.
  • Promote equal opportunities and recognition of diversity throughout the organization.
  • Comply with safeguarding, prevent, and health and safety policies, being vigilant to potential concerns and risks at all times.
  • Provide learners, customers, and colleagues with support and advice as part of your everyday role.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of working with Post 16 learners with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP).
  • Training in aspects of SEN, i.e. ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism.
  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English.
  • NVQ or equivalent as recognized by the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning.
