Description: Learning Curve Group is a national training and education specialist that works with further education providers, employers, and learners to help them achieve success. Our dedicated and passionate team helps us deliver success no matter what, to achieve our vision to 'transform lives through learning'.
Role Information: We are recruiting for an experienced learner support advisor who can support our learners at our national training and education specialist. This is a fixed term contract working Monday & Tuesday 9am - 12:30pm and Wednesday 9am - 4pm. Knowledge and experience of working with young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is essential. If you are passionate about making a real difference to young people;
- Provide learning support in 1:1 and groups capacity
- Aid access to the full range of learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom
- Provide modified materials, instructions, visual aids etc as required e.g. worksheets, games, visual prompt cards etc.
- Organise and maintain an inclusive learning environment
- Provide positive reinforcements, praise and rewards to Learners
- Facilitate inclusion in small group activities with Learners and support interaction between them.
- Attend in-service training and relevant meetings relevant to the post in order to keep up to date with developments
- Work as part of the team to ensure that the well-being and personal development of the Learner enhances their learning opportunities and life skills.
- Foster links between home and College
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to the Learners' needs and have regard to the safeguarding procedures of LCG
- Carry out duties as directed by the SENCo
- Advise and support Tutors with making necessary adjustments for Learners with learning support needs
- Ensure Learning Support Plans and contact logs are updated accurately and timely
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct your role in line with the company values and expected behaviours

- Ensure confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Provide learners, customers and colleagues with support, advice guidance as part of your everyday role
Essential Criteria
- Must have a Minimum of 2 years experience working with Post 16 Learners
- Have knowledge and experience of working with Post 16 learners with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP)
- Have training in aspects of SEN, i.e. ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism
- GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Maths and English.
- NVQ or equivalent as recognised by the National Occupational Standards for Supporting Teaching and Learning
- Have knowledge and understanding of the different social, cultural and physical needs of Learners.
- Adaptable and Patient
Recruitment Checks: Learners are at the centre of everything we do so we are committed to safeguarding and promoting their welfare. For this role, we will also carry out adverse media checks and also need to carry out a DBS check and will ask information related to previous convictions if you are shortlisted for interview. Please be assured that a previous conviction does not automatically rule you out of a role, unless you are barred from working with children or adults. We will follow our risk assessment process to understand age of, context and relevance to the conviction(s).
