About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Independent Sexual Violence Advisor to join our team at Victim Support. As a key member of our organization, you will provide critical support and advocacy services to survivors of sexual violence, focusing on individuals with complex needs and disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop individualized service plans to address the specific needs of survivors.
  • Provide ongoing continuity, advocacy, and impartial advice and information to survivors, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with survivors to promote their confidence, resilience, and empowerment within and outside the criminal justice system.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with local agencies and groups, providing education and awareness about Victim Support's services.
  • Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation, and administration of statistical reports for external funders, ensuring the highest standards of data quality and integrity.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor, with a strong track record of working with high and complex cases.
  • Extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system and its impact on survivors of sexual violence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including survivors, law enforcement, and other professionals.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and work in a trauma-informed manner, acknowledging the unique needs and experiences of each survivor.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions to complex challenges.
