Role Overview

AWE Plc is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join its Warhead Containers team.

This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting new projects developing, procuring, and testing designs in support of both current and future programs that contribute to the UK's Nuclear Weapon Programme.

The team works on multiple projects from concept phase through service and disposal. As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Generating Requirements
  • Mechanical Design using CAD software (preferably Siemens NX)
  • Producing Engineering Drawings
  • Supporting Concept of Operations Development
  • Carrying out Verification and Validation activities
  • Stakeholder Engagement with government agencies and regulators
  • Developing and delivering technical solutions that meet customer requirements
  • Leading / Supporting project reviews and providing written reports and verbal briefs to management and stakeholders

Salary

£37,860 - £53,000 per annum

Working Pattern

AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight, and we consider flexible working requests.

About You

We are looking for individuals with a STEM degree or a related subject. Postgraduate degrees such as MEng, MSc, and/or PhD would also be welcome.

Candidates should have an understanding and experience of systems engineering principles and how to apply them at various stages of a design lifecycle.
