Senior Technical Design Engineer

About the Role
AWE Plc is seeking a skilled Senior Technical Design Engineer to join our Warhead Containers team. Located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking, this role offers an exciting opportunity for experienced engineers to develop their skills in requirements definition, functional and physical architectural design, model-based systems engineering and verification and validation.
Key Responsibilities
This role will involve supporting projects developing, procuring, and testing new designs in support of both current and future programmes that support the UK's Nuclear Weapon Programme. The successful candidate will be required to lead/support project reviews for internal programmes and external contracts, including providing written reports and verbal briefs to management and stakeholders. A willingness to travel domestically and/or overseas for up to 4 weeks per year to support collaboration or trial activities is also essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications
An understanding and experience of Systems Engineering basic principles and how to apply these principles at various stages of a design lifecycle is required. Postgraduate degrees such as MEng, MSc, and/or PhD would also be welcome. Experience operating Systems Engineering software packages such as DOORS or Enterprise Architect is also necessary.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
