Direct Payment Officer

The Direct Payment Officer for Children's Services is a key position within the Social Care Payments Team. As a member of this team, you will play a crucial role in reviewing and authorising children's direct payments in accordance with the Council's payment schedule.
You will work closely with the Children's Social Care Teams to resolve issues in a timely and accurate manner. This will involve auditing direct payment bank accounts, investigating issues, and updating records on our Social Care Finance system.
We are seeking a strong team player with a collaborative work style, numerate, and able to understand, analyse, and explain information. You should also be able to cope with conflicting demands and deadlines, and have a strong degree of empathy to deal with distressing situations.
Key Responsibilities- Review and authorise children's direct payments in accordance with the Council's payment schedule
- Work with the Children's Social Care Teams to resolve issues in a timely and accurate manner
- Audit direct payment bank accounts and investigate issues
- Update records on our Social Care Finance system
