Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Secretary to provide exceptional administrative support to our Orthodontic Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a high level of service to our patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders.

Main Duties
  • Provide full secretarial and administrative support to the Orthodontic Department, including managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and coordinating clinical activities.
  • Work flexibly and sensitively with other disciplines both on and off the QVH site, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Provide and receive confidential and sensitive information, written, aural, or verbal, to be exchanged with patients, clients, relatives, staff, or external parties.
  • Review and manage the patient pathway to ensure all Orthodontic and RTT targets are met, escalating concerns when they arise.
  • Communicate sensitively and appropriately with patients, ensuring their needs are met and their expectations are managed.

Person Specification
  • Secondary education to GCSE level, including English and Maths
  • NVQ level 3 in administration or equivalent experience or RSA level III or able to demonstrate equivalent skill
  • Significant experience in secretarial/administration, preferably in a medical setting
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Aware of confidentiality and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
