About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Residential Senior Therapeutic Child Care Practitioner to provide high-quality care for children in a residential setting, promoting positive adult role models and supporting their physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff and contribute to the overall management of the home, ensuring compliance with legislation and organisational policies.
  • Develop and maintain a service that meets the needs of children, adhering to National Quality Care Standards and Regulations.
  • Create a child-centred environment that provides physical, emotional, social, and intellectual support.
  • Ensure children's health, medical, and educational needs are met, respecting their individual identity and needs.
  • Promote and respect children's culture, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Respond to internal and external inspections, audits, complaints, and investigations as required.
  • Participate in professional development, supervision, performance reviews, and training events.
  • Identify and address the needs of diverse groups, adhering to relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Manage challenging behaviour with compassion, both within and outside the home.
  • Undertake personal care and moving and handling as needed.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Children's Home Support Worker or Children's Home Senior Support Worker, with a caring and empathetic nature. A Level 3 or 4 Children's Residential qualification is desirable, along with excellent supervisory skills and a passion for achieving positive outcomes for children.

What We Offer

A great opportunity exists to develop a rewarding career with a caring company that prioritises creating a family home atmosphere. The salary range for this position is £38,000 - £42,000 per year, with a shift pattern of 10 x 24-hour shifts per month on a rolling rota, including sleep-ins. An initial training period until early 2025 is also included, Monday to Friday, with holidays given for Christmas and New Year.
