As a Patient Transport Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients and medical equipment are transported safely and efficiently throughout the hospital. Your primary responsibility will be to transport patients to designated areas, using the most efficient routes possible, while maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all individuals involved.

About the Role: In addition to transporting patients, you will also be responsible for answering phone calls, dispatching services when needed, and logging calls on the computer system. You will work closely with the nursing department to prioritize their needs and ensure that patients receive timely and effective care. As a Patient Transport Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, making decisions quickly and efficiently to meet the changing needs of our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport patients to designated areas within 18–20 minutes as noted in the log.
  • Bring the code cart to the designated unit immediately upon request.
  • Transport x–ray reports, medical records, and other equipment necessary, including oxygen tanks.
  • Safely handle gas cylinders and apply patient oxygen administration devices under direct nursing supervision.
  • Answer phone calls and dispatch services when needed, prioritizing the needs of the nursing department.
  • Log calls on the computer system if covering as a Dispatcher.

Requirements: To succeed in this role, you will need strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Previous hospital experience is preferred but not required. Additionally, you must be willing to work weekend day shifts from 7 am to 3:30 pm, every Saturday, Sunday, and holiday.
