Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our dynamic and supportive Approved Mental Health Service (AMHP) team at Essex County Council.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, providing expert and effective practice in complex situations. As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for managing workloads, supporting colleagues with complex cases, and mitigating high levels of risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake statutory assessments and triage initial enquiries in line with statutory duties
  • Work collaboratively with statutory and non-statutory/voluntary agencies to ensure a joined-up approach
  • Develop strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community to provide a supportive framework for vulnerable people

Requirements

  • Qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration
  • Approved Mental Health Professional Mental Health Act 1983 as recognised by ECC
  • Significant experience in modelling good practice and providing advice and guidance in complex situations
  • Ability to mentor both newly qualified and experienced team members
