About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing high-quality mental health services to children and young people in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people's mental health needs, working closely with families and carers to develop effective care plans.
  • Provide evidence-based treatments, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed practice, to children and young people with a range of mental health presentations.
  • Supervise and support junior staff members, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless care coordination and effective service delivery.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Qualification in a core profession, such as social work, mental health nursing, psychotherapy, or clinical psychology.
  • Registration as a full member of the appropriate professional body, such as the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), or the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
  • Experience working in a relevant NHS setting or similar, with a focus on children and young people's mental health services.
  • Ability to travel across the Mid Essex area, as required.
