Job Title: Advanced Skills Worker

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people? We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Advanced Skills Worker to join our team at Essex County Council.

About the Role:

  • Provide nurturing therapeutic care to children who have experienced trauma, supporting and caring for them as a parent would.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to develop the skills and resilience of children to return to their families or onto longer-term care.
  • Line manage a team of staff, providing guidance and regular supervision to enable them to support children/young people to meet agreed outcomes and achieve their full potential.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Children's Home or transferrable line management experience.
  • A Level 3 Diploma (or willingness to complete within 2 years of starting employment).
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • An ability to manage challenging behaviour and work in a fast-paced environment.
