About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality anaesthesia services to our pediatric patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide anaesthesia services to pediatric patients, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative care, and postoperative recovery.
  • Participate in the pediatric on-call rota, providing 24/7 coverage for our pediatric patients.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols for pediatric anesthesia.
  • Collaborate with our pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) team to provide comprehensive care to critically ill children.
  • Participate in teaching and education activities, including training and mentoring junior staff.
Requirements
  • 6 months advanced level experience of pediatric anesthesia in a tertiary center.
  • Training and experience in pediatric intensive care and the transport of critically ill children.
  • Level 2 Child Protection Training.
Desirable Qualifications
  • 1 year fellowship in pediatric anesthesia in a tertiary center.
  • Experience in the provision of pediatric preoperative assessment and pain services.
  • Research/presentations/publications in pediatric anesthesia.
