About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Rhythm Analysis Specialist to join our team at Allina Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for performing 24-48 hour holter test analysis, using Bio-Tel heart scanning system to include superimposing scanning, heart rate variability program, QT and pediatric programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cardiac Rhythm Analysis
    • Analyze holter monitor data to identify cardiac rhythms and create detailed reports.
    • Superimpose cardiac rhythms scans to provide accurate and fast scanning for in-house and outreach facilities.
  • Cardiac Stress Test Preparation and Monitoring
    • Prepare and monitor cardiac stress tests, ensuring proper skin prep and lead placement.
    • Document heart rate and blood pressure during exercise and remove leads from patients after tests.
  • Patient Communication and Care
    • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining actions and responding to questions and needs promptly.
    • Ensure patient safety at all times during tests and procedures.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Safety
    • Clean equipment using high-level disinfection processes and follow department and manufacturer guidelines.
    • Protect patients, self, and others from injury by using proper equipment and body mechanics.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication
    • Report concerns related to patient condition promptly and identify equipment issues for resolution.
    • Communicate ideas and suggestions for process improvement to the team and supervisor.

Requirements

  • Vocational or technical training/education in EKG or a related healthcare discipline.
  • Coursework in advanced EKG identification and EKG arrhythmia (preferred).
  • 1 year of experience as an EKG Technician or EKG Monitor Technician (preferred).
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Allina in-house BLS training.

Physical Demands

  • Light work, with occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. and frequent lifting of up to 10 lbs.
