Job Overview
As a Children's School Counsellor at Mayesbrook Park School, you will play a crucial role in providing onsite support and counselling to students aged 11-16. Your primary goal is to work collaboratively with their families and the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) to enhance well-being and educational outcomes.

About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an independent and confidential counselling service to students dealing with mental health, behavioural, and emotional difficulties. This includes supporting young people at risk of safeguarding issues such as sexual exploitation, radicalisation, and abuse. Additionally, you will focus on promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, adhering to the school's Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide one-to-one and group counselling sessions for students struggling with mental health, bereavement, and school refusal.
• Offer guidance and support to staff members on matters related to student well-being.
• Develop and maintain knowledge about counselling and education developments to provide effective support.
• Collaborate with CAMHS and other relevant services to ensure comprehensive care for students.

Requirements
• Qualified counsellor with experience working with young people aged 11-16 and their families.
• Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check required.

Salary Information
This role offers a competitive salary of approximately £32,000 per annum, reflecting the importance of this position in supporting the emotional well-being of our students.
