Position: Behaviour Support Assistant
Type: Fulltime Permanent

Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with emotional and behavioural difficulties promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Monitor and track student progress providing feedback and reporting to teachers and parents on behaviour and emotional development.
  • Create a safe and supportive environment that encourages students to express themselves and develop coping strategies.
  • Facilitate group sessions and activities focused on social skills development conflict resolution and emotional awareness.
  • Collaborate with external professionals such as educational psychologists and counsellors to enhance the support provided to students.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with young people particularly those with emotional and behavioural difficulties is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • A resilient and patient approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people in overcoming challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to effectively engage with students parents and staff.
  • Relevant qualifications in education youth work or a related field are desirable.
  • DBS check required.
