Job summary

FamilyAction have recently been awarded funding through The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) todeliver early support hubs expanding our existing innovative mentalhealth/wellbeing interventions to young people across Hackney with a focus onearly intervention and bringing together a range of different support in thecommunity.

Working witha team of dedicated Youth Support Workers and in collaboration with the HackneySuper Youth Hub, you will be required to provide 1:1 counselling to youngpeople with an identified providing early intervention mental health support to youngpeople aged 11-25 years old.

Main duties of the job

1.To provide 1:1 counselling and early interventionmental health support to young people aged 11-25 years old.

2.To work with the Hackney Super Youth Hub, tosupport young people and liaise with appropriate professionals in the network.

3.To have an active interest in working withthose affected by mental health issues and recognise the impact this has ontheir life.

4.To maintain confidential, up to date andaccurate records of all sessions and plans, carefully

5.To use outcome tools to measure and monitorclient well-being, to assess on-going risk, promote safety, collate data and towelcome service feedback.

6.To ensure you understand and comply with FamilyActions procedures for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children andvulnerable adults.

7.To carry out or participate in all such othertasks and activities that will help develop and promote the service.

8.To participate fully in regular managementsupervision, team meetings, appraisals, and clinical supervision sessions.

9.To participate in both the evaluation andmonitoring of the service and contribute to reporting to commissioners andfundraisers.

Main Responsibilities:

To provide 1:1 counselling and earlyintervention mental health support to young people aged 11-25 years oldalongside our team of dedicated youth workers.

To collaborate across a number ofstakeholders in the London Borough of Hackney including other professionalsoperating as part of the HealthSpot pilot.

To have an active interest in workingwith young people affected by mental health issues and recognise the impact ithas on their life.

MainRequirements (for details check the job description and person specification):

Aminimum level 4 professional qualification in Counselling and/or Psychotherapyfor working with Children and Young Adults

Registration/Accreditation(or working towards) with a relevant professional body BACP/NCPS/UKCP

Experienceof counselling/professional work with children and young people who haveexperienced mental health issues
