Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Psychiatric Liaison Team at Northumberland and North Tyneside, based at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington.

This is a full-time Band 5 Higher Associate Psychologist post that involves undertaking two service evaluation projects: the first project focuses on evaluating the impact of closer working with the Crisis Team on patient care and experience. The second project aims to evaluate the impact of a new navigation system for people attending the Emergency Department to identify ways to understand patient attendance, needs, and support effective access to emergency care.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work as part of a well-established team, consisting of experienced mental health nurses and dedicated psychiatry input. The team provides timely biopsychosocial assessment and formulation to individuals presenting with a range of mental health needs in the acute care hospital, including self-harm, delirium, and medically unexplained symptoms. This may involve providing brief follow-up for individuals with complex presentations.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent research and report writing skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The post holder will receive support to develop their skills in required areas of work and will be provided with appropriate supervision from an experienced clinical psychologist.

Key Responsibilities
