Job Description:

Senior Health and Safety Advisor sought by HeatherDaniel International Ltd, a leading waste management and demolition company in Hampshire with multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have excellent health and safety expertise and a proven track record in maintaining and enhancing safety protocols, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

This role offers a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to make a significant impact on our company's safety culture. You will be responsible for developing and implementing health and safety strategies, conducting risk assessments and audits, providing expert guidance on health and safety matters, and ensuring compliance with legislation and industry standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Health and Safety Policy Development: Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards.
  2. Risk Management: Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.
  3. Employee Support: Provide expert guidance on health and safety matters to management and staff to ensure a safe working environment.
  4. Legislation Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, industry standards, and company policies to maintain a strong safety culture.
  5. Training Delivery: Deliver comprehensive health and safety training and inductions to employees and contractors to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills.
  6. Performance Monitoring: Prepare and present detailed reports on health and safety performance to senior management to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
  7. Culture Enhancement: Foster a strong safety culture through effective communication and engagement with all stakeholders to promote a positive and proactive approach to health and safety.
Requirements and Salary

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (preferred).
  • Proven experience in a senior health and safety role within the waste management or demolition industry.
  • Experience in mechanical demolition (experience with explosives not required).
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • A willingness to travel to various sites as required.
