Responsibilities- Develop Health and Safety Strategies: Develop and implement health and safety strategies to reduce risks and ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards.
- Risk Assessment and Audit: Conduct thorough risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Expert Guidance: Provide expert guidance on health and safety matters to management and staff to ensure a safe working environment.
- Legislation Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, industry standards, and company policies to maintain a strong safety culture.
- Training and Development: Deliver comprehensive health and safety training and inductions to employees and contractors to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills.
- Report Preparation: Prepare and present detailed reports on health and safety performance to senior management to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
- Safety Culture Enhancement: Foster a strong safety culture through effective communication and engagement with all stakeholders to promote a positive and proactive approach to health and safety.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (preferred).
- Proven experience in a senior health and safety role within the waste management or demolition industry.
- Experience in mechanical demolition (experience with explosives not required).
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
- A willingness to travel to various sites as required.
