Job Title: Senior Health and Safety Advisor

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join HeatherDaniel International Ltd, a leading waste management and demolition company in Hampshire with multiple sites.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and promoting a culture of safety within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and Implement Health and Safety Policies: Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards.
  2. Conduct Risk Assessments and Audits: Conduct thorough risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.
  3. Provide Expert Advice and Guidance: Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters to management and staff to ensure a safe working environment.
  4. Ensure Compliance with Legislation: Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, industry standards, and company policies to maintain a strong safety culture.
  5. Deliver Health and Safety Training: Deliver comprehensive health and safety training and inductions to employees and contractors to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills.
  6. Prepare and Present Reports: Prepare and present detailed reports on health and safety performance to senior management to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
  7. Foster a Strong Safety Culture: Foster a strong safety culture through effective communication and engagement with all stakeholders to promote a positive and proactive approach to health and safety.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (preferred).
  • Proven experience in a senior health and safety role within the waste management or demolition industry.
  • Experience in mechanical demolition (experience with explosives not required).
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • A willingness to travel to various sites as required.
