GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, focusing on emotional support and coping strategies.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons by modifying resources and employing diverse teaching strategies.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages safe expression and positive peer interactions.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance academic and social development.
  • Support students during break times and extracurricular activities to promote social skills and enhance self-esteem.
  • Help maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment conducive to curiosity and exploration.

**Requirements:**

  • Prior experience as an SEMH Teaching Assistant is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of individual students.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Passion for working with children with SEMH needs.
