Support Worker for Students with SEMH Needs

About the Role:
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in South Yorkshire. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage with the curriculum and achieve their potential.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and resilience.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to reports for parents and carers.
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
- Strong understanding of SEMH issues and effective strategies for supporting students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH support or related fields.
