SEMH Education Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs in South Yorkshire. As an integral part of our team at GSL Education, you will be instrumental in creating a nurturing and effective learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, promoting engagement with the curriculum and maximizing their potential.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages emotional well-being and resilience.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to reports for parents and carers.
Requirements
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs.
- Strong understanding of SEMH issues and effective strategies for supporting students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEMH support or related fields.
