Buckinghamshire Council is a leading organization in the field of foster care, seeking a highly motivated Foster Care Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

This part-time position, 18 hours per week, is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting foster children and their families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring placement stability for children living in care, while also providing support to foster carers' birth children.

  • Direct work with foster children, foster carers' birth children, and foster carers.
  • Understanding of trauma and its impact on children and adults.
  • Access to various direct tools to work with children.
  • Supporting/delivering training to foster carers.
  • Working as a team to provide support groups/activities to foster families.

As a Foster Care Specialist, you will have exceptional communication skills, experience of direct work with children, and preferably experience working with foster carers.

The role requires home visits to foster carers or attendance at support groups/activities. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in occasional weekend or evening work.

About You

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a passion for supporting foster children and their families.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and as part of a team.
