Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a dedicated Child Care Specialist to join our supportive Children In Care team. We are looking for someone passionate about improving the lives of children and young people.

About the Role

Your role will involve supporting children living with relatives, friends, or foster families and prospective parents, residing in children's homes and semi-independent units. Through regular visits, assessments, and care plan reviews, you will develop meaningful relationships with these children, understanding and interpreting their wishes while championing them to reach their full potential.

You will be required to prepare reports and attend court on occasion. Our Children in Care Team is collaborative, strengths-based, and relationship-focused, adopting the Strengthening Families Framework as our practice approach.

This is a career-graded role with opportunities for growth and development. If appointed to a Grade 7 position, you will receive a market premium of £2,750 per annum, in addition to the salary advertised.

Requirements
  • A social work qualification
  • An active HCPC/SWE registration
  • Completion of the ASYE
  • Recent experience (at least 2 years) within a Local Authority
  • Commitment and dedication to improving the lives of children and young people
