Youth Justice Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Youth Justice Officer to join our team at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. As a key member of our Youth Offending Team, you will play a vital role in delivering child-first support to vulnerable children and young people who come into contact with the youth justice system.
Your primary responsibility will be to supervise children and young people assigned to you, working closely with their families using systemic approaches. You will also collaborate with partner agencies to deliver services and carry out accurate, effective assessments. Your expertise will be invaluable in providing advocacy and interventions that can prevent both offending and reoffending.
About the TeamOur Youth Offending Team is a multi-disciplinary team that is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of young people. As a Youth Justice Officer, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of young people and families, and to contribute to the development of our team's practice and policies.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise children and young people assigned to you, working closely with their families using systemic approaches.
- Collaborate with partner agencies to deliver services and carry out accurate, effective assessments.
- Provide advocacy and interventions that can prevent both offending and reoffending.
- Work with young people aged 10-17 who are subject to youth justice interventions and sentences on statutory court orders or out-of-court diversions.
We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated individual who has experience in a multi-disciplinary youth offending team. You will need to have a recognised and relevant qualification in social work or probation, and be open to practice in a relational, systemic, and trauma-informed approach. You should also be well-organised, an excellent communicator, and adept at building a wide range of partnerships.
