Job Title: Commercial and Regulatory Legal Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial and Regulatory Legal Counsel to join our client, a prestigious public sector organization. As a key member of the in-house legal team, you will provide expert legal advice on various matters to the team and senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Expert Legal Advice: Offer strategic and tactical legal guidance on commercial and regulatory matters to the team and senior management.
  • Contract Negotiation and Review: Prepare, review, and negotiate complex legal documents and contracts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure that all operations are in line with relevant laws and regulations, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement effective risk management strategies to minimize legal exposure.
  • Collaboration with External Counsel: Work closely with external legal counsel when necessary to ensure seamless legal support.
  • Staying Up-to-Date: Stay current with changes in law and regulations, briefing the team accordingly to ensure they are well-informed.
  • Litigation and Representation: Handle litigation matters and represent the company in legal proceedings, ensuring the best possible outcomes.
  • Policy Development: Contribute to the development of company policies and legal procedures, ensuring they are aligned with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Law Degree: Possess a law degree from a recognized institution.
  • Litigation Experience: Have experience handling litigation matters and representing companies in legal proceedings.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Demonstrate proficiency in risk management and legal compliance, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
